Happy International Women’s Day from all of us at Ovia Health! Today, we’d like to share a little bit about who we’re celebrating — the women who motive, support, and inspire us in our mission to improve the world for women and families.
Who are you celebrating?
“My MOM! Because she loved me and cared for me through every stage of my life…from my middle school angst, to my high school awkwardness, to my college ‘I don’t need to talk to my parents’-ness. She’s extremely intelligent, kind, and tells me all the time that me and my siblings were the best things that ever happened to her. She’s the best.” -Maddie
“Today I am celebrating my mom, who is not only a role model to me and my two older sisters, but also someone who champions women in her career through women’s public health endeavors as a PA and teaching a diversity call to high school students every year.” -Rebecca
“My mom! She taught me I can be whatever I want to be and do whatever I want to do — and she leads by example to show me how.” -Olivia
“My best friend. Lena always walks, if not dances, to the beat of her own drum. I can always rely on her to be brutally honest with me one moment, then make me cry of laughter the next. I am constantly in awe of her.” -Christina
“Today I’m celebrating my wonderful mom! We could (and do!) spend days comparing our reading lists and pouring through cookbooks to find our next recipes to tackle.” -Molly
“My mom is not only a great mother but an amazing businesswoman — she was one of the top healthcare lawyers in the country and has since started her own business. I strive every day to emulate the way she approaches problems and channel her empathy. I hope to achieve as much as my mom has, and if the fact that we continuously dress alike has anything to do with it, I think I am on my way.” -Sarah
“As a chronic worrier, it’s pretty wonderful to have my mom — this brilliant, kind, comedic genius who had a 20-year career as a lawyer before I came along — always whispering in my ear, telling me that “it won’t be worse than middle school.” -Mollie
“All hail the group text! I’m celebrating my best friends from college: my girls (and one male straggler). It’s a modern miracle that I’m only ever one text message away from an outpouring of love, support, and weird, wonderful wisdom. I’m so lucky to have them in my pocket and in my corner every day!” -Rachel
“Today I’m celebrating my beautiful mom. I wouldn’t be where I am now without having her as an amazing role model!” -Savannah
“I celebrate my mother, Marian, today and everyday. (Here we are in the hospital while I’m waiting to give birth. It was *her* birthday too, and we’re laughing and celebrating with some cake from the hospital cafe.) She’s lived her life with such grace, generosity, resilience, and humor, and I’d love to be a fraction of the woman and mother she is.” -Pamela
“I’m celebrating my little sister (seen here in pink). She’s been my best friend, worst enemy, and even an awesome co-worker! But more importantly, she inspires me with her courage, ambition, and adventurous spirit. She’s traveled the world, and she’s an entrepreneur with her own small makeup artistry business! I couldn’t be more honored or proud to have her as a sister.” -Melanie
